The Blood Guard protect the world without the world knowing they do. Ronan Trueloves's mother is such a guard and by inheritance, so will he once he is old enough. Of course, Ronan doesn't know any of this until his mother is captured by the enemy and he and his hated arch nemesis, Greta are stuck together. With all the wits he can muster and all the classes he was forced to take, Ronan must rescue his mom, save the world, and not kill Greta all before figuring out just what the Blood Guard really want from him.
I enjoyed this book as did my kids. We rooted for the good guys, booed the bad ones, and sat on the edge of ours seats through the rest. A page turner with tons of action, I highly recommend this book to all ages, especially children that struggle with reading because it's boring. This book is far from it.
